Description

If you're like me, you buy a fair amount of sample spools which are normally 250 grams. They are great for small projects where you don't want to buy an entire roll. However, they do not work in the AMS and rewinding them on another spool is just a pain and time consuming so here is my solution to this problem. With this adapter it securely holds your new 250 gram mini spool securely in the AMS and works just like a normal size spool. Happy printing.

Das Gewinde ist mir beim Fixieren kaputtgegangen, habe dafür ein neues Innenleben mit Schrauben konstruiert und die Rollen weiter verwendet. // The thread broke when I was fixing it, so I constructed a new interior with screws and continued to use the rollers.

Printed two copies of this; the shorter one with regular PLA, and the additional 1/2” design with a PLA silk (both colors I am not really fond of, and just need to get rid of) — I think the PLA definitely printed nicer/smoother, but they both turned out beautifully, and have allowed me to print with my 250g rolls without using foam and cardboard to modify and trick the system into thinking my rolls fit, lol — So I am much happier with them. — I will probably print two more eventually so I have a full set, just in case. TBH, I would advice just printing the longer versions. The shorter ones fit most of my 250g, but why risk it over a few grams of material. I hadn’t even noticed there were two sizes, and of course, after printing the first set the very first material I tried to use with it, didn’t fit in the shorter set, and I had to keep using my foam/cardboard setup…to print the longer version. Don’t make my mistake.
