Description

Easily add labels to your Bambu Lab reusable spools, with a remaining filament estimator!

Compatible with Make My Sign for custom labels.

I absolutely love the Bambu Lab reusable spools, but you're either stuck with the original label, or have none at all.

I also like the indicator on their labels that gives you an estimate of how much filament is remaining.

So I designed this press-fit label holder for the spools!

Just duplicate the labels you want from “Common Filamanet Labels” to the “Copy labels to print here” plate, and your project will remain organized.

MAKE YOUR OWN LABEL

You can create your own labels in Make My Sign, as long as you use the following settings:

Rectangle Base Plate, 1mm thick, 1mm corner radius, Hole: None
10mm Height
43mm Width

I used Roboto font for the included labels at size 36. If you have a 0.2mm nozzle, I'd recommend using a smaller font if you want to fit more text on the label.

MATERIAL CHOICE

When choosing the material to print in, consider the environment your spool may be in.

If you dry your materials, try to choose a filament that won't soften when your spool is in a dehydrator/heater.

PLA is fine for PLA spools, and may be ok for PETG (not tested)
PETG and ABS are better for higher temp filaments.

REMOVAL

If you want to remove the label holder for whatever reason, you can pop it off using a scraper. Wedge the blade underneath the holder and lift. If the pins break off, you can just push them through the holes in the spool using a small tool (e.g. hex key) and remove the debris.

Fits perfect, easy to print and now part of stuff every Bambu user should have list. I left my "professional" old tags i was using for comparison 😂 Printed some custom tags, next time i should double-check my Filament profile 😅

Fits very snug, so you don't have to worry about it falling out. Also, you can easily swap out the label tags, but they also fit snug enough not to fall out. Nice design. I'm going to put one on each of my spools.

I cant seem to "paint" everything. Look at my pictures. When I paint it, it appears its all red, but when I slice, there is a layer of black there. What is going on?

I like it! The model is well crafted, everything fits perfectly, and it remains stable. The indicators showing the remaining material are very accurate and closely match when weighed on the scale Very useful for dummies like me who forget what material is on the spool 😂 You really had a great idea!
