Description

I made this device for my dad's walker - he suffered from Parkinson's disease. People that have this some times "freeze" and have to count to get themselves to move again. The idea is that the device shines a laser line on the ground where the person walks through. For some reason they focus on the light and freeze less. The upgrade to a walker is really expensive so i bought a laser level from Amazon and pulled the parts off to repurpose. (Link below) The laser component is really just a pointer, and it runs through a prism. While testing, i discovered that the prism that came with the laser level has to be offset to create the laser "line" that shines at the floor while the box is attached to the walker. I plan on using some cat5 scrap cable to link the switch box (attached with zip ties) on the handle to the main box that attaches to the tube on the bracket below.
