Description

AMS Lite rotary elements replacement for spools with interior diameter under 55 mm.

For spools with the interior diameter under 55mm that don't fit on the Bambu Lab rotary parts I only found adapters that fit on the rotary element and the spools will have a lot of offset, so big consoles and off balance and pulling sideways of the filament and so on.

I designed replacements for the BL rotary elements. You just pull out the factory elements and insert the two new elements designed with the BL color code (GREEN - square fitment and YELLOW - hexagon fitment). The new parts don't have the rotating spring effect but they work just fine like any other spool holder.

The round limiter end caps are 46mm in diameter, so you can fit any spool with the interior diameter above 48mm.

You can glue together the stand alone limiter end caps or no not. I glued them on the adapters because I like to have an inetrior limiter for the spool, too…so that there won't be any kind of friction between the spools and the AMS body. I separated the interior end caps from the big parts so supports will not be necessary. Filament save and time save also.

Enjoy!

first of all thank you so so much for your contribution and fantastic design. I have been looking for something similar to this for a while to be able to utilize some spools that otherwise I couldn't on the AMS lite unfortunately the green spool adapter rod does not fit over and slide on the rail as smooth as the yellow one does for some reason. so to clarify printed both out yellow and green yellow slides on and snaps in fine but the green one does not I'm not sure if this is a tolerance issue or whatnot but the green ones for some reason do not work. I mean they work but they will not securely slide all the way on like the yellow ones will. is there a reason for this am I missing something? thank you so much in advance.

Hello! First of all, I'm very glad that you find the design useful. My printed parts, yellow and green, fit just fine on my AMS Lite! I understand that the green one does not slide in all the way to the AMS body. Did I get that right? Did you print both of them (yellow and green) in the same print or different prints? ...and if you had two separate prints, maybe some variables were different...temperature, position, settings...anything? Another aspect that comes to mind, but quite unlikely, is that maybe the aluminum rod with the green mount of the AMS Lite has some iregularity...but that would also raise an isue with the original Bambu Lab rotary element. Does the original one fit as good as the other three? Try to compare the aluminum rods using a caliper to measure them. Please keep me up to date. I'm curious about your findings!

sorry for the late reply and thank you so much again for all of your hard work. that is correct for some reason the green one does not slide on all the way The yellow ones do. I have reprinted this multiple times and still the green ones do not fit in the yellow ones do for some reason. they have all been printed on the same printer. I printed them on the X1 carbon and the A1 with both tuned filaments and same results I am not sure if they have different variants or the internal part that connects the green is slightly different depending on when you bought your AMS light I'm not sure but mine was purchased very recently. but no matter what I do every time I print this even if I slow the speeds down do a finer layer height I am very curious to if anybody else is experiencing this issue with the green? I have tried all of your suggestions but still same results unfortunately only with the green but other than that the yellow slides on just fine.

Hi again! I was away for quite some time, so sorry for my late reply, too! It is a possibility that there are different variants or the internal part of the AMS Lite! Unfortunatelly if that is the case, only you can know/measure your parts.

🥺 the part that clicks into the original spool broke off both of them

I'm very sorry to hear that. I used the first ones that I printed dozens of times! Did you check the dimensions on your AMS Lite? I heard that some AMS units have different dimensions of the interior elements. I only have one AMS Lite and I don't have access to another unit so I can measure it.

Worked perfectly for that weird spool I had that had a 1.5inch smaller hole.
