Description

I got a few packs of AMOLEN 200g sample spools for Christmas, and they didn't fit into my AMS, so I designed an adapter to make them work!

There are apparently multiple types of spools in the 200g size that are slightly different. There is one that is devoid of any branding on the spool itself, and another that has the amolen logo pattern molded into the spool itself. Please check that you have one of these spools first before printing and rating the profile. Thank you @Riffer for the help with dimensions for the branded spools!

Great Print, Great Fitment on the BRANDED Spool Adapter....I removed my older comment about the Non Branded Spools fitment issues, This saves me so much time!! Thanks for the Adjustments and the New "Branded" print Profile...Enjoyed Calibrationing with you!! I have Printed Both Profiles, and they both print nicely.....but the Branded Profile is the one that satisfied my specific needs.

I'm sorry to hear that! Yeah, that doesn't look the same as the spools I have. Looks like your spools are branded, where the ones I have have no such branding. If you're able to measure the distance between holes (center to center) on those spools, I can get you a tester piece and if that fits, i'll make a new profile for that spool.

The "tabs" aren't the only thing that off.....the diameter of the adapting spool "clips" are small for the diameter or this 200g spool as well.

Design is well made but the detents that are supposed to connect to the Amolen spool don’t line up. Ended up cutting them off and the spool snapped in place. Spool rotates within the holder but should still work with AMS.

They appear to be just slightly too high from where the spool holes are. As I said, I just sliced them off and I didn’t have any problem with the holder working. there was a slight issue during retraction as the spool didn’t automatically spin with my AMS. hope this helps.

Sorry this took me so long to respond to, but it looks like you don't fully have the edge of the spool secured in the groove. You sort have to put it in at an angle to get it to seat properly. If i'm wrong and you do have it fully seated, i'll have to figure something else out. You aren't the only one whos had a similar issue.

clipping them in is difficult, but once on works out amazingly!

Yeah, I tried to make them flexible so you can flex and snap them on, I might tweak the lip just a hair to reduce the effort to put them on. Glad you found them useful!

Yeah, I trimmed the little tab or hook a bit and it worked out. Just made a small angle so it was easier to slide in.
