Description

1st print of my Sovol 3D Filament dryer tray for drying my desiccant. I'm very happy with the first draft and will put a pic up of the final print. Print in PETG. The image shows 4 spool desiccant and the 3 standard holders in the front of the AMS. Still plenty of room for additional to dry. As you can see the PLA does tent to sag. I'm hoping the PETG will be better. if not i will increase the thickness of the base to cope with the heat/sag. I can confirm PETG has no problems with sagging.

Printed in ABS with some adjustments as the first one broke on the side walls… So, what do you guys do, to get the humidity out? Leave the lid open for a small slot? Or do you open it every now and then? what is your best method?

I found the only way is to open the top every now and again for a few seconds. that helps, but it takes a long time in the Sovol. to be honest I’ve started using the oven as it’s a lot quicker.

I agree with you, the oven is much quicker, especially when having large quantities (from several spool containers + the AMS containers, etc.) but for just a bunch the Sovol is good enough (especially when not further in use and wife requires the oven). For now, I found it useful, to have the lid a small gap open, ~ 1cm and then open it completely for a second from time to time

Yeah the first time i tried it i filled it with all the above lol. I don't get how the Solvo can actually work after purchasing it. There is no escape for the moisture. it's a sealed unit unless you leave the top holes open. To be honest i only use mine for TPU now. Don't have any problems with PLA PETG ASA. I keep the ASA in sealed bags with the air sucked out, but PETG and PLA are just on the shelf.

Whats the slot in the middle for? Is it so you can reach the middle of the desiccant? And if it is, how about a version with a triangle rather then a rectangle . Nice Work will be printing in ABS.

Hi @bruce.falkenstein85. The slot is to let the fan blow the air through the middle of the desiccant. Thank's for your feedback. Happy Printing.

PETG tray has been in for a few hours now at 50 degrees Celsius and there is no sag at all.
