Description

UPDATE 12/17/23: It appears that there were still some underlying issues with the black file and the rear cover. I have uploaded new files again.

UPDATE 12/5/23: The black file has been updated. One of the extrusions was in the wrong areas and prevented the rear cover from fitting. This has since been correct. If you have previously downloaded the files please download the new updated file. For those that have possibly already printed this box, I have also uploaded a new smaller rear cover that will fit with the original files so that you do not have to scrap the box if already printed. My appologies for any inconviences that may have caused.

Here is an Alabama Crimson Tide lightbox. The rear cover features a sawtooth cutout for hangina as well as a 15mm circular cutout for easy wiring of LEDs. I have also included a basic stand in the event you want it displayed on a tabletop.

You might want to check your design again on the face. I printed it three times and on the bottom where it sinks in where the base goes is split from the rest of the circle making it very flimsy and doesn't fit right. I used listed profile on my. X1c.

This is very strange. I have never seen this sort of failure. The model shouldnt have a sunken in area for the stand. I will definitely look into this and see if I can find any issues with the model EDIT: After looking at the file I found that there was definitely an issue with both the black and rear cover. I have corrected the model and will have them uploaded shortly. Sorry for the inconvenience

I made this box on my X1C using the latest design (as of 12/23/23) and it worked great! Here are the filaments I used: HATCHBOX Iron Red PLA, eSUN Warm White PLA PRO (PLA+), eSUN Silver Silk PLA, eSUN Black PLA PRO (PLA+). You will notice the black lines near the bottom of the main box print. These are the flow calibration lines that overlapped the print area on the bed. I should have noticed this from the print preview, as you can see from the screenshot. If you print this, consider disabling flow calibration when you do the print. I also see that I need to perform some calibration. I'm still looking for the best (works well and is not expensive) lighting solution, so if you've done something like this before, please let me know what you used. I'm still learning...

The rear cover has a lip that should fit into the rest of the printed lightbox. I can check the files to verify that there isnt a sizing or other related issue. Please note that individual color files all have to be loaded at the same time and loaded as a single object. Colors can then be selected for each part and should be printed together at the same time. I have recently uploaded a printer profile file that is already preconfigured. you simply just need to make sure your AMS unit contains the correct colors and that they are assigned to the correct parts.

I have found an issue with the black section of the model and have since corrected it and uploaded new files and profile. I will be adding a smaller rear cover shortly so that you wont have to reprint the entire box. My appologies for not catching this error before posting and for any inconviences it may have caused.

Design is very thin, but overall you can make it work.

Sorry you feel the face is too thin. It is .6mm which is pretty standard for a lightbox. Most lightboxes use .6mm to 1mm for the thickness. If you dont mind the box being deeper, you could increase the z scale to gain extra thickness
