Description

This is a fidget toy and educational model I designed which uses four beveled gears meshed together. It can be used to explain gear ratios (turns at 2:1 to the body), beveled gears, gear meshing, etc.

You can print all in one colour, but it looks best with gears being a different colour to the body and screws. It would also look great with four gears all of different colours.

printed from the handy app with no issues, and it came out really great. I really liked the design and fine tuning the screws to give it a nice flush fit. I gave it to my 94 year old grandfather, and he loved it.

Pretty cool but the end caps are tough to spin on without a slot.

It works great. I wish it were just a bit smaller tho. it’s a little too big to manipulate with one hand easily and I have large hands.

Thanks for the feedback, I agree, I'll work on some more similar fidgets that are a little smaller. I've had a few ideas, and would love to hear suggestions.

Flawless print. Overture silk PLA blue silver for the gears and Bambu lab basic PLA blue for the other pieces. I lubed everything with superlube grease during assembly resulting in an incredibly smooth motion.

Prints beautifully however, the screws need some more shells. They’re way too brittle and my daughter broke it. First time she dropped it, reprinted it with additional shells. No problems after that.
