Summary

This is the remix of my portable chess board design. This time, I used mmu to create a print that looks great and doesn't require any glue.

You might remember my original design, which was a simple and elegant way to play chess on the go. It had a foldable board and pieces that fit inside. You can still find it here: https://www.printables.com/model/106174-portable-chess-board-with-pieces

But I wanted to make it even better, so I decided to use mmu to make it easier to assemble and you don't have to worry about gluing the pieces together.

The general instructions for printing and assembling the board are the same as before, but with fewer steps. Just make sure you have a printer that supports mmu and follow the settings I provided before.

Print Settings:
Left and right side of the board: Use supports.
All other: don't need supports;
Resolution: 0.2
Infill: 15%

All models can be printed in PLA with the exception of the lock that should be TPU.

one thing to note is to disable support for the hinges or you’ll have a tough time trying to get it all out. I also don’t have tpu so using a rubber band to keep it closed.
