Description

Side spool holder - remix

  • Side spool holder, all printed parts
  • No bearings, no PC4-M10 fitting

Remix changes:

  • Design change for the bearings on the spool holder, the holes are smaller to fit the round part of the roller
  • Design change for the filament guide: made the hole smaller to fit/block the PTFE tube
  • Changed the print profile

Print details:

  • I used the textured PEI plate, cleaned it with soap and started printing. No issue with bed adhesion. But you can definitely use other plates for PLA as well.
  • The roller is printed with variable layer height, as in the original post
  • Only support is added to the roller, the rest prints without support

Assembly guide

  • Remove the support from the roller and check for any debris on the small rolling parts. You can use a piece of sandpaper to smoothen this
  • Press/fit the roller in the side spool and add some lube to it. Don't use liquid lube.
  • Remove the metal spool holder from the back of the printer
  • Install the printed side spool mount with 2 x M3 screws
  • Install the PTFE tube guide by first removing the 2 small screws on the printer and inserting with 2 longer screws.
  • Add a piece of PTFE tube from the guide to the printer and you're done

Print time and used material:

  • Print time: 3 hours and 40 minutes
  • PLA filament, approximately 95gr

Model is very good, but with standard settings i had a bad quality on the upper wheel on the tower, but that is okay because the function of the model is overall okay and works properly.

please check if variable layer height is selected for cleaner finish. takes a bit more time, but you'll receive a cleaner print

This was a great print, is strong, rolls well, and looks good. The only thing that was annoying was going to get the longer screws. I printed this out of PETG. Thank you!
