Description

This is a parametric Lithopane frame designed to work with any dimension lithopane you need. The FDS and STEP files are included so that you can edit the dimensions as needed. The pictures provided show color lithopanes designed using Hueforge. Check it out if you're interested in Filament painting and Color Lithopanes. If you need a frame for Filament Paintings instead of the Lithopanes, check out my Parametric Floating Frame.

Print Directions:

Bambu Users can use the 3mf file to load the parameters. For everyone else:

Print at .02 layer height, 25% infill, PETG is prefered due to using LED Strips, but PLA will work as well.

Mouse Ear brims are useful if you have issues with the corners lifting up.

For the Back, do a filament change at layer 3 to White to provide the best reflection for the lithopane.

For the electrical:

1 USB-C Breakout Board - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09KC1SMGD?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

LED COB Strip - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09Y1QYCYZ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

Stranded wire to connect the board to the strip

Soldering Iron

Assembly:

Solder 2-3" wires to the Breakout Board - Positive to Vbus, Ground to GND.

Install the Breakout board on the two posts in the base.

Measure the LED Strip to desired length and install in the base, allowing ~1" clearance to Breakout board.

Solder VBUS - Positive lead to 5v pad on LED strip.

Solder GND - Ground lead to GND pad on LED strip.

Apply glue/adhesive to tabs on back plate.

Install Back plate in the Base, White side facing the LEDs, making sure the USB-C port is sticking out of the slot on the bottom.

Insert Lithopane in the front, applying glue to secure if desired.

Apply glue to slotted side of Frame and install on Base, securing the Lithopane in the body.

Connect power to the USB-C connector and enjoy your new photo.
