Description

Silicone nozzle wiper for X1 and P1 series.

Works much better in my testing than original nozzle wiper with PTFE tube.

What will I need?

You will need silicone square 14x14x2mm.

There are plenty of 2mm silicone sheets on AliExpress and Amazon, but you will need to try few to find decent properties.

I have tested a lot of silicone sheets and found perfect hardness, tensile strength and stretching.

It involved a lot of money and time, and as it is custom made directly in factory and cut to perfect dimensions with machine, I cannot link it here.

BUT! You can buy pre-cut silicone squares with perfect properties and 250°C resistance on my Etsy store:

How to print?

I would recommend printing Nozzle wiper with ABS/ASA. It can be printed with PETG also, but it may warp over time due to nozzle temperatures.

For cutting jig, just print it with anything you like and snap it together. You can even glue it with some CA glue if you want to.

How to use?

Put cutter on silicone sheet as shown on the photo and cut it with you bed scraper you got with your printer, or if you dont have one, use some sharp utility knife.

Put silicone square in Nozzle wiper and screw it in the place where original nozzle wiper goes.

Enjoy in perfectly whiped nozzle every time! :)

I've already printed several of the actual holders in ASA from the original model, but wanted the little cutting guide to clean up my silicone sheets. I have to deduct a star because the holder is in the wrong orientation, per the designer. You want strength in the Z direction of this object so the nozzle doesn't shear it off at the layer lines, so printing it on it's side is necessary for longevity. I'm also pretty sure you don't want to print PLA on a plate that's been heated to ABS temps, and the filament change time is not enough to allow the plate to cool from 90° to 55°. The cutting guide prints fine though, and works great! Thanks!

hmmmm, my printer waits for plate to cool down to 55 then prints PLA. Also, way it is orianted has more contact surface on bed so it is easier to print, and I found out it is strong enough if printed with ABS, as there is no way for nozzle to hit plastic part. Thanks for the feedback :)

Ich habe es mit ASA von Bambu Lab gedruckt und es ist perfekt, Silikon wie in der Anleitung gekauft und geschnitten. Die Reinigung der Düse ist perfekt und es macht nicht das Geräusch als würde etwas kaputt gehen. Montage ist ganz einfach, wie in der Beschreibung 👍

Thanks, the cutting aid is really useful. Other than that I seem to have an issue that PETG sticks to PETG (wiper)...

Best to print it with ABS, or try to wrap it with kapton tape 🤔

Thanks for the design man but can you please it make it for 2.5mm silicone too? I ordered 2mm and it came 2.5mm :(

I can do it 2.5mm, but it may be too thick and cause too much strain on the nozzle. Contact me privately and we will test if 2.5mm would work.

this thing is a must in my opinion, clean nozzle and probably will not break. I printed 4, just in case, but the first one is holding and doing the job like a champ. I didn't get the notification to give the stars, but it is a 5 for sure.
