Description

The original case of the SwitchBot Meter is too big to fit into the Bambu Lab AMS. I designed the new version to be as small as possible and now it is a tight fit.

The new dimensions are 49mm x 49 mm x 22.5mm (thickest area) / 14mm (thinnest area).

All parts can be transferred from the original case and no new parts are needed. In order to transfer the parts, the original battery cover and battery needs to be removed. Afterwards the backplate can be removed with an iFixit Jimmy and a metal spudger. The PCB is held in place with 4 small phillips screws. The display, zebra strip, middle plate and PCB can then be transferred to the new case with the 4 existing screws. In the end the metal contacts for the AAA batteries must be transferred from the old backplate to the new one.

Please contact me if you have any problems with printing and assembly or if you need something changed. I will try to answer as soon as possible.

Got my AMS and made the new case. It looks great! The first time I assembled it I didn't remove the support infill so the case didn't close all the way. I reprinted it and moved it over but think I damaged the zebra strip in the process because on the second print, the screen wouldn't stay on unless I applied pressure to the top. Superglued it and clamped it and now all is well. Super cool build if you are smart enough to remove the supports before pressing the battery terminal in because I couldn't get those out without breaking it.

I am happy to see that everything worked out in the end. The Zebra strip is actually quite durable but requires some contact pressure in order to work. The tiny screws are barely enough to hold everything together with enough pressure.

Great job! I just got my P1S Combo and found out, that the orderd Switchbot Meter doesn't fit into the AMS. 🙁 Then I found this model here and directly sent it to the printer. It hurts a little bit to disassemble a brand new sensor to move it into a new body and during the replacement I was not sure, if this sensor still works when I'm done. But it works.

This is PERFECT! I was sad when I found out my switchbot meter wouldn't fit (and I noticed it was close), but with your well designed case, it now fits like a glove. Thanks!

I'm waiting for my AMS to ship but in the meantime, I'd like to do this. I have 1 switchbot in my dry box and would love to add 1 to my AMS. Is there enough room behind this unit to fit a silica Gel box?

I have not tried to fit one behind the hygrometer but in theory it should be possible to design a narrow version for it. as you can see in the picture there is some space left

Thanks. I'll play around with it once I get my AMS
