This is something I created such that I could glue in printed out “hearthstone character portraits", as generated on hearthcards.net. I'm using these to more easily and visually reference characters for a campaign of DnD I'll be running in the future. To match I've made a box that holds about ~28 about of them with a magnetic lid. The magnetic lid requires you to superglue 4 (two corners) or 8 (all corners) 5mm diameter 1mm high magnets.
The images in the printed portrait are printed on a regular 2D printer. Getting the size perfect on your printer might be annoying. I'm printing them as 11.63 cm (4.58″) by 8.26 cm (3.25″) images.
I'd recommend printing the lid in transparent PLA. Mine had a small printing defect in the lower right corner but the semi-transparent look is quite cool in my opinion. Try a different infill for a different effect, most infills will look good.
