Description

A retractable party popper toy that uses replaceable and customizable faceplates in place of a blast of confetti

Highlights

  • The “string” can be pushed back into the barrel so you can experience the fun of a party popper again and again
  • No confetti mess to clean up
  • Can be easily stored and reused for other celebrations
  • Great for photobooths and pictures since you don't have to time the blast
  • The noise isn't as loud as a traditional popper so it could be used in quieter situations
  • Additional faceplates can be made to your liking

Printing notes

  • There are 4 plates (you do not have to print all the plates)
    • Plate 1 (default: matte white):
      • Barrel engraved with shapes
      • Gear
      • Handle half
      • Extrusion half
    • Plate 2 (default: silk gold):
      • Wavy streamers faceplate
      • Straight streamers faceplate
      • Bolt with star-shaped cap
      • Star-shaped nut
    • Plate 3 (default: black):
      • 2024 faceplate
    • Plate 4 (default: matte white):
      • Barrel with no engravings
  • Plates 1 and 2 are sufficient to print the entire model in the cover but if you want:
    • Duplicate another faceplate from plate 2 or 3 so both sides show the same faceplate
    • Print the 2024 faceplate in place of one of the streamers (you may want to print this in a darker color than the extrusion half for visual contrast)
    • Print the barrel with no engravings on plate 4 in place of the barrel on plate 1
  • Print the parts: barrel, gear, handle half, extrusion half, 2 faceplates, bolt, nut

Assembly instructions

1. Insert the gear into the rails of the handle half

2. Cover the top of the gear with the extrusion half (surround the gear with the walls of the two halves)

3. Insert the assembled gear and the halves into the barrel – you should be able to see the hole of the gear through the barrel

4. Push the bolt with the star-shaped cap through the barrel and gear hole

5. Flip to the other side and twist on the star-shaped nut

6. Pull the handle to expose the extrusion half

7. Press down the faceplate onto the bumps of the extrusion half

8. Flip to the other side and press down the other faceplate onto the bumps

9. Complete!
