Overview
Manufactured at Clan Diamond Shark’s newly rebuilt Trellshire
Heavy Industries factory complex on Twycross, the Parakeet was an ultralight scout 'Mech not intended for direct combat. With an Extralight Gyro, XL Engine, and a measly three tons of Ferro-Fibrous armor, it couldn’t stand up to even small arms for very long.

Capabilities
The Parakeet could provide reconnaissance and artillery
spotting, as well as support fires for friendly forces. Clan Diamond Shark manufactured the Parakeet line with a store of Star League-era Chameleon Light Polarization Shields that mimic the terrain behind the unit, making it very difficult to spot and hit at a distance.

The CLPS is controlled by the Guardian ECM Suite, which makes the unit hard to detect by sensors. With a TAG to target enemy units, a Remote Sensor Dispenser to create a sensory network and a Clan Active Probe, not much could escape a well-supported Parakeet lance. For direct attacks, the Parakeet had a Flamer for use against infantry and to start fires. It also had an ER Medium Laser for dealing with Battle Armor or harassing heavier threats.

Deployment
The Parakeet was mostly sold to Inner Sphere forces, namely
the Lyran Alliance, though mercenaries and planetary militias took a liking to the ultralight design as well.

Variants
Clan Diamond Shark also designed a version meant for garrison
duty. All the equipment was stripped away, save for the ER Medium Laser and Active Probe. A Micro Pulse Laser was added to provide anti-infantry capability.. An SRM 4 launcher provided further flexibility. Carrying two tons of reloads, one of the CASE-protected ammo bins was typically dedicated to carrying tear gas, smoke or some other kind of support ammunition.
