Airless Ping Pong Ball, reinforced circle mesh!
Tested in basic PLA its approved to regular playing without major smashing, in wich case resistance is improved with PETG (or any other material with better layer adhesion or higher melting temperature such as ABS or Nylon)
Improved resistance, bouncing and weight approach
After some tests with hex meshes, we conclude that the circle mesh has greater resistance by better distributing the hitting response on the surface, this means that less plastic can be used to make the ball and in this way achieve a better weight match with the real ball.
Improved bounciness consistency
The circle mesh allows a better surface finish in the lower and upper critical areas of the print, this makes the direction of the bounces more regular. With a slight sanding in the support sector, a smooth surface is achieved throughout the geometry.
The print profiles already come with pre-loaded supports, make sure to view them correctly before printing, once printing is finished, wait a few minutes for the plate to cool to avoid deformations in the sphere.
