Description

So this was my first remix on thingiverse :)

Original design had only 1 holder for LM2596 buck converter, but locally I could only find LM2596S and wanted to fit more than 1 inside the cover. That's how this remix was born.

Improvements from original design (atleast I think so?)

  • Reduced area that requires supports A LOT
  • 2 holders for LM2596 / LM2596S buck converters
  • Slight opening in the back of the cover for mainboard wires (easier to make this cover sit flush)
  • Hex pattern went holes :)

Print with [Support placement] -> [Touching buildplate] and add support blocker for the top wents (if using tree supports), like in the attached image.

Included buck converter holder as a separate .stl to check if your buck converter fits before printing whole cover.

Also added .STEP files for mainboard cover and buck converter holder, so feel free to modify to your needs.

Notes:

PLA might work, but not sure if the buck converter holder clips will survive slight bending during installation of buck converters. There is a separate .stl for buck converter holder (print time < 15 minutes, depends on your slicer settings), so test it out before printing full mainboard cover.
