Description

Birdie Ball is a golf practice ball that allows you to practice swing by providing a similar hitting response by reducing the trajectory of the shot due to its aerodynamic resistance, making it an excellent practice partner in small spaces or in a backyard with enough space.

This model replicates the same weight and resistance as the original Birdie ball, and should provide a trajectory of approximately 40 yards on a full swing.

For practice, it should be placed with the hole vertically as shown in the photo and hit it like a traditional ball. The geometry will cause the blow to be absorbed by the lower angle, giving it a flight similar to that expected.

It is recommended to print it in TPU with 4 walls and infill of at least 25% to increase resistance.

Just today I was served an ad on IG for Birdieball’s, just happened to wonder if someone has attempted this yet. Sure enough! I had some extra FLASHFORGE Flexible PLA Filament laying around for a 3D basketball I haven’t tried yet. Figured that was maybe a better option than TPU. The “ball” flight is amazing! I took a few full swings on them, I don’t think there’s a chance I crack them. I’ll test more tomorrow, but it seems to have about 50% of a reall ball’s distance. I may test a few different print profiles to see if I can get it to be a little shorter. It’s insane how you can make the ball draw or fade, or stay straight. It feels much better than my foam practice balls. Thank you so much for doing this!
