In 1906, an article by Karl Sapper was published describing the games of the Kekchi Indians, including puluca. A year later, in the 24th Annual Report of the Bureau of American Ethnology: Games of North American Indians, Stewart Cullin presented a description of the game based on the account of Thomas J.
