3D model description

This is the follow-up to the USMC Infantry Platoon threat ring compass posted in my other listings.

Range Rings represent the maximum effective range of a particular weapon system. They are often drawn on maps during the planning process to let the planner know how far they need to be to prevent unnecessary casualties, or how close they need to be to employ weapon systems. When used to represent enemy ranges, they are often referred to as "threat rings". This particular compass is designed to plot distances for some of the most common weapon systems employed by the Chinese Marine Corps, or PLANMC. It's important to note that for explosive munitions, this represents the range they can reach, NOT the radius of the blast.

Designed for a 1:50,000 scale map, due to similar sizes of many small arms, all platoon organic weapons are lumped into a single ring at 500m. Weapons represented include:

-Infantry Platoon (Type 70-1, DJZ-08, PF-89, QBZ-95 point target range all included in this range ring)
-QLT-89
-QJY-88
-WZ-551
-QLZ-87
-QBU-10
-QLU-11
-PP-89
-ZTQ-15
-HJ-8
-Type 71
-PP-87 and Type 53

This compass was designed for use with the standard map pens and can easily be carried in the inner pocket of the Rite-n-Rain squad leader's notebook cover. Comes with a straightedge on the side presenting 6000m broken down into 100m increments. Simply line up the hole in the thumb groove with a position on the map and hold in place with a finger, insert your map pen into the hole of the weapon's ring you wish to represent or insert your finger into the depression, and spin...viola, accurate range

3D printing settings

Specifically designed to allow printing with the stock 4mm head of the Ender 3 and Voxelab Aquila printers. .2mm layers for optimal clarity. Recommend printing at 100% infill for durability...this is thin.
