Description

Despit being an enclosed deisgn , these printers still hvae holes, crevaces and gaps where VOCs can leak into the immediate environment.

Create negative pressure to extract VOCs continuously out a window or through a filter.

This kit includes:

  • a bracket for the X1C, P1S or P1P with housing
  • 92mm fan housing
  • vent

Use 4 inch ducts to connect all the components.

Fan Housing

This is a basic housing for a 92mm computer fan. There are 4mm diameter holes on each side to hold the lid in place and an exit hole for the fan wiring. Attach a 4inch duct to each side.

4-inch Duct Bracket

A simple bracket to attach a 4-inch duct to the back of an X1, X1C, P1S, and P1 with corresponding housing.

Attach with magnets for easy installation and removal or VHB tape for a better seal.

Window Vent

This is simple vent/intake meant to be used in a window without the need to drill through a wall, thus the minimal clearance. Use this with a thin sheet of plexiglass, cardboard, or any other similar material.

Add mosquito screen/mesh to keep bugs and pests out.

Hello, I have an X1C. Could you show images of how it is already installed? I see several pieces but I have no idea what the installation would be like.

I’ve recently changed to a window mounted vent after relocating my setup to another room in my house na shave not had time to properly install the vent. being lazy, I have the plug where my wall adapter plugs into the fan taped on top of the fan housing. total length of the tubing between the p1s and the fan housing is about 1.5m. I get good airflow with this setup. but not too much that it causes drafts to go through the printer causing issues.

Works great! I changed the cover to accommodate a switch, then I wired in a 12v converter. Thank you for the files!

This system worked great for me! I ended up designing and printing a flange for magnets that I glued to the output of the fan housing and input of the vent so that I could feed the exhaust air through the screen without cutting a hole. I need to get a piece of plexiglass so I can get rid of the ugly cardboard. I didn't modify these files in any way, I just glued my flange on.

Hi, thanks for the design! are you able to print ABS? What computer cooler do you use yourself?

I use a generic 92mm fan. 12v wired into a 2 amp wall adapter.

I haven’t done an abs profile since I haven’t printed with abs to confirm the dimensions after printing. my setup is indoors with the exception of a new window mounted vent which is done in petg. I’ve done similar parts for a positive pressure system mounted outside with abs and petg so there is no issue with printing these type of parts in abs.

HI, would it possible for you to make a 3 inch duct version?

Is there a 3" version of this by any chance :)

i was wondering if adding another fan inline with the fan exhausting from the printer could hurt it. i was thinking specifically making the printer one spin faster than it should be or perhaps have air pulling through printer fan when it should not be spinning? i love the idea and want to do it. just concerned about my investment.. lol

Hi! How did you figure out the hole distances? Trying to find some info on this and coming up short. Thanks!
