3D model description

These pieces are used to easily attach a greenhouse, made of wood, to any square planter. Just line up the pieces at the corners of the planter and cut the wooden slats to size.

Each piece is attached with 2 screws of 2 mm diameter to the planter and finished off with the plastic cylinders included in the document. the greenhouse is attached with a screw of the same dimensions to each piece.

The construction of the greenhouse is quite simple, once you know how long and wide it will be, you build the front and back rectangles (the ones with the longest length). Then you add the four slats with the width measurement and reinforce the corners with a small piece of square lath as seen in the pictures.

All the pieces are glued and joined with upholsterer's staples, this makes assembly quick and you don't have to wait for the glue to dry. The plastic I used is transparent film (I recommend using a thicker one or double it).

The top and front faces open, they are just attached to two strings that hold them in position. The plastic glues itself and is held together with the strings by folds, it can also be stapled or sewn.

The greenhouse insulation is very effective, I have managed to keep the good weed in good condition and have germinated mint in the dead of winter (the greenhouse has been around for a while now). This allows me to harvest them fresh all year round, mainly for making sauces.

Materials:

  • Transparent film or a stronger plastic

  • Wooden strips about 2 cm wide (any of similar dimensions will do)

  • 12 screws of 2 mm diameter.

  • Carpenter's glue or white glue.

  • Upholstery stapler and staples.

  • Synthetic fiber rope.

  • Varnish or oil to preserve wood.

  • Presses to keep the wood from moving during assembly (optional).

3D printing settings

It is printed at 0.2 mm on an Anycubic mega X. The material used is PLA. Requires support and 8 line border for better adhesion.
