N - SNCF noise barrier at Châtillon
( French text at the end )
Due to lack of space, I couldn't avoid laying rails near the edge of one of my modules. To prevent my rolling stock from falling, I opted to install a noise barrier to act as a safety rail.
The one proposed here is inspired by an existing structure. This noise barrier is located at the exit of the PARIS MONTPARNASSE SNCF station. To be precise, the first elements of this wall appear on the right just after passing the disused OUEST CEINTURE station, located on the left as you leave the Montparnasse station.
The wall frames the tracks leading from the TGV network to the MASSY station, as far as the CHATILLON-MONTROUGE metro station. It is also present on the VERSAILLES-bound branch reserved for suburban and mainline traffic. It stops at the VANVES-MALAKOFF SNCF station.
In the photo directory, an SNCF document taken from the track side shows the peculiarities of this wall, made up of sections of different sizes, inclining at each change in height.
Moving from the smallest, most inclined panels to the largest, vertical ones is usually a 4-5 step process.
The length of the different inclined sections is not standard, and there is a wide variety of compositions.
To create these files, I used videos available on YouTube, filmed from the driver's cabs of the trains serving the routes we're interested in. These will be supplemented by personal photos and videos taken on multiple train journeys between VANVES-MALAKOFF and PARIS MONTPARNASSE.
The exterior scouting will enable us to measure the various panels and their different inclinations.
For the moment, only straight sections of this wall are available... (RSI/23).

Going from the smallest panels, which are the most inclined, to those that are vertical and therefore the largest, is generally done in 4 or 5 steps.
