A mutant humanoid beaver manimal miniature for 28mm games.
Pre-supported and unsupported files included. Also includes a simple printable figure base.
After the world was reborn in fire, many of the animal races of Terra AD became ‘Up-Lifted’…they mutated to take on more humanoid characteristics. The Beaver-Kin are an example of this, and they retained not only many physical qualities of their base animal, but also many of its proclivities as well. They are excellent builders, powerful swimmers, tend to congregate around dams (either Ancient dams or ones they build themselves), and favor flat ‘thwacking’ weapons in combat.
This model portrays a beaver-kin holding his staff-weapon (an Ancient oar) at the ready, prepared to defend against possible hostilities. He has cool Ancient goggles as additional protection, and a construction hammer as a back-up weapon.
Dark-Platypus Studio specializes in making models for role-playing game enthusiasts. Our models are designed to be printed in 28mm scale, the perfect size for Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, or other games that are often played on a 1” grid. They are also designed to stand up to actual tabletop use: no ridiculous spindly bits that look awesome but are going to break the first time someone sneezes. Paintability and ease of assembly are also important concerns to our design aesthetic.
I sculpted these Beaver-Kin for our 2022 Gen Con/Origins Mutant Crawl Classics adventure “The Order-Giving Tree”. They have never had a physical release and the stl is available nowhere but here!
