JWizard’s Egg Holder and Eggs – 6/24/23
Designed by JWizard
Thank you for choosing JWizard's Egg Holder!
Our egg holder can be used for a breakfast presentation, a decorative Easter Egg Display, a decorative egg presentation. You can use real eggs or the eggs supplied with this project that you can print. Each egg is placed in a bowl insert on the egg holder. You can spin each layer of the egg holder using one of the extruding grips that you will see around the top of each egg holder. You have a choice at the top. You can use the cross or the rod and cup holder to place at 15th egg in the display
Keep in mind the egg bowl inserts fit snuggly. This was done intentionally so they will hold the eggs correctly. If your holes, including the rod and cup, have bumps (zits as your printer goes from layer to layer) , you will need to clean up the zits. This will require a bit of efforts to insert and remove the egg bowl insert due to the bumps (zits) within the holes. Clean out each hole and remove the zits prior placing the egg bowl insert. There are two ways to insert the bowls into the holes.
You can twist them in or push them in from the bottom of bowl. If you are going to twist them in, do not grab the bowl inserts too close to the top. It is possible you may crack the bowl insert with your hand when twisting it into the hole. Do not remove zits from anywhere else other than the holes for the egg bowl inserts.
You will need to use a washer between each egg extension and each egg holder. This leaves an intentional small gap between the egg extension and the egg holder and removes friction between the two parts so you can spin each tier more freely.
If you were going to create the egg holder as presented, these are the pieces you would need to print:

Idea’s:
You can print whatever parts you want without following our photos. Perhaps you want a taller or shorter egg holder? Perhaps you want a 4, 5 or 6 tier egg holder? It is up to you! Each egg holder should have an egg extension.
It might be a good idea to put some felt pad on the bottom of the model so that it does not move as you turn the tops. This also protects the surface where you will use the model.
Occasionally you may have to move your egg holder. Remember to grab it from the bottom because due to the fact that the pieces are not locked together because of the spinning tops.
Do not warp your washers. Keep them flat. If they are not flat you may be able straighten out by hand. It might be best to remove them from the print bed with a spackle knife.
What filament to use with your model? Since you want your eggs to stand out, a single color egg holder might be best. You may also choose to color the egg bowl inserts.
Matte or regular PLA works better than silk.
You can also try putting the eggs into the egg holder without the egg bowl inserts.
