3D model description

A faithful recreation of the original gas deflector for a Colt 9mm SMG, R0635, R0633, and various pistol caliber carbines.

Its dimensions have been copied nearly 1 for 1 with an original, although some slight changes to the back, unseen side have been made to allow it to fit on a wider range of receivers (The exact geometry near the the back of the ejection port tends to vary quite a lot between different receivers). The molding holes were also omitted in order to not weaken the printed part.

This is perfect for use on Airsoft builds, or display pieces. While it will fit fine on a real steel receiver, I cannot guarantee its function on a real firearm due to the potential temperatures it may be subjected to.

You will need a small, stiff spring of 3/16" diameter approximately 1/8 to 3/16" long to retain tension on the deflector, this is the same as it is on the original device. This goes into a hole on the inside face and keeps it correctly positioned.

I also recommend sanding and polishing to give it the same look as the original molded plastic.

Holes will need to be reamed with drill bits in order to fit properly. The two hole sizes are 1/8" and 3/16".

3D printing settings

At least .15mm layer height
4 or more perimeters
Sanding and acetone smoothing recommended

Duramic PLA plus used for print shown.
