This design is for a 3D printable wheel base similar to that of other popular speed rail (aluminum pipe) parallel dolly systems. Visit the link above to learn more about your options.

In these STL files is the wheelbase and the ball head mount for a Vinten Blue tripod head. (This is the tripod I'm using). It's possible you may need a different mount, or maybe different placement of where you drill your holes in the baseboard. Ask questions or share your own DIY head mount design on the blog post!

I recommend you print with PETG. I'm not a fan of ABS, but I did not test this with PLA. In theory it should work fine, but I printed my PETG with 50% infill. And designed this for you to thread in the 5/16" bolts. I'm not sure how your machine will warp the design, but you may have to slightly modify your scale based on your printer. (Pro tip: cut this design in half and print one end β€” test your bolts and wheels. Make sure they fit before you print four of them)

On my site I have STLs if you want to use 1" floor mount PVC pipe.

For this camera bowl, you'll want to use a 38mm hole cut into whatever wood base you are building. (Depending on your tripod head this will be different for you).

Feel free to remix it and share your comments on the blog post. (it helps keep things organized)

Hope you enjoy and good luck on your next filming project!

Make sure to get good adhesion, this was an 18 hour print for me.
