3D model description

This is a 2x 3.5" bay NAS cased based on an Odroid XU4Q (or XU4).
The case has been printed and validated.

A good starting point for the NAS software side can be found here:
https://wiki.odroid.com/odroid-xu4/software/ubuntu_nas/ubuntu_nas
This configuration features 100Mb/s file transfer via a 1Gb Ethernet link. For HDD this is close to the theoretical maximum transfer speed.

Please leave comments for feature requests.

The compact version of this housing requires connections to 230/110V - high-voltage can be deadly!
Only commence this assembly, if you are trained to work with 230V. Seek help from professionals, if not.
There is an will be no explanation/plan of or support for the electrical wiring inside this NAS in this project.
You can always stick to the non-230V version and use external power supplies!

Parts needed for the housing:

Screws for mounting HDDs 6-32 UNC 3/4 (phillips preferred)
120mm Fan (a TC version for noise reduction)
2x Fan grills to protect cabling & fingers

For 230/110V compact NAS:
Mean Well RS-25 12V 2A
Mean Well RS-25 5V 5A
Power Inlet IEC320 C14

For external panel mounted ports:
1x HDMI

1x Ethernet
1x USB 2.0
1x USB 3.0

You can get most of these parts at Aliexpress or other sources.

Development Log:

04.07.2018
- Back side case v3 with adjusted stand-off for the Odroid XU4(Q) board. Now it can be mounted both ways without clearance issues with the HDMI connector.

30.06.2018
- Front side v3 with 120mm fan opening slightly reduced to make it fit to the fan inner radius (air tight).

10.06.2018
- The backside part is has been printed and tested but there is a collision at the panel ports with the upper HDD --> corrected in v2 models
