3D model description

Use common glass pepsi and coke bottles with your sodastream to make smaller servings, without any plastic flavour. This adaptor, based on LaurentWeb's excellent concept, is completely food safe, by mounting the bottle rim directly in to the sodastream gasket - none of the printed plastic is exposed to fluid or gas. Most other glass bottles with a screw top use this thread, including some larger bottles. This adaptor provides a good way to upgrade a cheap sodastream to use glass bottles. Print at home in PLA, or buy one on shapeways and help support me.

Print a SodaStream_Glass_Pepsi_Adapter.stl and screw it on to the top of a glass bottle, so the glass of the bottle protrudes a little from the the adapter, then screw the bottle in to a sodastream. You shouldn't have removal problems, but just in case, two notches are included to aid in unscrewing if it somehow gets jammed in to the sodastream's socket.

Known compatible bottles:

  • Pepsi 300ml (sold in Australia in IGA and some supermarkets)
  • Coke 330ml (sold in Australia in most major supermarkets)

Warning: Soda bottles are designed with compression in mind. You may risk glass explosion if you use bottles that weren't originally designed to hold carbonated drinks

If you'd like to build remixes, the Glass Pepsi Bottle Top Reference.stl provides an accurate reproduction of the top of a 300ml Glass Pepsi bottle. The Glass Pepsi Bottle Top Cutting Tool.stl version is expanded with 0.5mm of tolerance in every dimension, so you can simply boolean difference it out of another object to provide a suitable screw hole.
