These phone cradles are designed to fit the 3D-printable phone cases that I sell. You may use them with other phones and cases, but I can't guarantee the fit will be as good.
This mount has a 24mm diameter ball joint on the back, so it can be used with RAM Mount arms. I was using a RAM Mount X-Grip with my phone before this, but found it incovenient because it pretty much requires two hands to operate and doesn't plug in the cable automatically.
This mount has small rails on the bottom and you can download plugs that fit these rails so that when you insert your phone into the mount, it is plugged in as well.
I will be adding more versions of this mount to fit all the phone cases I sell. A dedicated bicycle mount cradle is also planned. Please purchase my phone case models to support the development of new products.
Compatibility: The iPhone 12 version also fits the iPhone 14 and 14 Pro. There's a separate version for the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
If you plan to keep this mount in a car where it might get hot, I recommend using a print material with good heat resistance. I haven't tested annealed PLA, but that's one option. I make my mounts using PETG and they hold up for about a year. In really hot weather, the ball joint will become slightly flattened. You can try applying some epoxy over the ball to make it more rigid.
For each mount, there are two models versions. One if without supports and will require support material to be printed using most common methods. The supported version is designed for FDM printing and it includes all necessary supports and even "brim ears" on the corners to help bed adhesion.
I recommend at least 50% infill and a thick shell for printing. The samples were printed at 0.2mm layer height and 0.4mm nozzle.
