This file package contains: Original M-Jet Sprint & Supersprint

Supersprint is the newest update, which brings the most recent M-Jet features developed by M-Jet Development and the community into a brand new design, while keeping the style of the original M-Jet Sprint.

Note: This is not a physical product. After purchase, you can download computer files which you can use to manufacture your own parts on a 3D printer. Fully functional and complete RC boat model. All parts including the jet pump and pilots are included.

Sprint includes:

STL files for all parts of the boat, including the pump, designed to be FDM 3D printed, mostly with no supports.

STEP file of the whole boat.

Supersprint includes:

STL files for all parts of the boat, including the pump, designed to be FDM 3D printed, mostly with no supports.

STEP file of the whole boat except for the pump (the pump is only included in the STL format).

You can 3D print it and assemble it with help of the manual, links above. You need to buy all electronics, screws and other necessary parts yourself - part list is in the manual, too.

M-Jet Sprint overview

1/10 scale, 39cm hull length.

Two stage jet pump, meaning it has two impellers. The pump is integrated into the hull body. It achieves very consistent performance and has no issues with priming, like many single stage pumps do. The M-Jet impeller mounting system does not use any glue or grub screws, therefore makes the maintenance very simple. All thrust is absorbed into a thrust bearing, there is no force on the motor shaft.

Integrated watercooling: Both inlet and outlet for your watercooling loop are integrated into the design.

Self righting works thanks to a flood chamber - a chamber that gets filled with water when the boat flips over. The side with the chamber gets heavier and flips your boat back. When driving forward again, all the water flows out.

Optional pilots and V8 engine are included in the STL files.

Integrated mounts for the motor, battery, ESC and receiver.

Motor choice: You can use up to 3660 size brushless motor. Read more in the manual.

Update 27.03.2021: The Motor choice section in the manual was edited after testing more motors with the boat.

Update 25.04.2021: A new folder Mods_for_M-Jet_Sprint was added to the files. It includes new modifications of the boat design with some ideas coming from the community, which suit different needs. Added mods: thicker hull mod, thicker cover mod, ride plate mod.

Update 02.08.2021: New boat stand by Landon_L was added to the Mods_for_M-Jet_Sprint folder. Thanks for sharing!

Update 10.08.2021: New bilge pump mod by Landon_L was added to the Mods_for_M-Jet_Sprint folder. Thanks!

Update 14.9.2021: New single blade impeller design mod was added to the Mods_for_M-Jet_Sprint folder. This impeller design was not tested on this pump yet, but was found to dramatically improve efficiency on a different pump. Feel free to try it and leave feedback!

Update 06.05.2022: New extended long ride plate mod by Landon_L was added to the Mods_for_M-Jet_Sprint folder. Thanks for sharing!

Update 31.07.2022: New thicker hull with bilge pump by Justin Janes was added to the Mods_for_M-Jet_Sprint folder. Thanks for sharing!

Update 13.8.2022 Thanks to Macandnews, we now have a manual in French language! Thanks for your work.

Update 23.8.2022 New longer hull for bigger motor or battery by Justin Janes was added to the Mods_for_M-Jet_Sprint folder, thanks again!

Update 18.11.2022 Modified steering rod for thicker servo arm was added into the Mods_for_M-Jet_Sprint folder.

Update 04.03.2023 Pilots with separate heads for easier painting were added into the Mods_for_M-Jet_Sprint folder.

Update 20.03.2023 Pilots with separate heads, as well as separate rollcage piece, were added into the Mods_for_M-Jet_Sprint folder.

Fix 18.04.2023 Some users reported missing mods in the mods folder. The latest version of the mod folder Mods_for_M-Jet_Sprint_18.4.2023.zip was uploaded to ensure proper function.

Update 03.06.2023 STEP file of the whole boat was added into a new folder M-Jet_Sprint_STEP_file.

Update 27.06.2023 Modified version of the longer cover by Jeff Jackson was added into the mods folder. A steering rod for a TRX servo by KpopRC was added as well. Thanks for sharing!

Update 14.09.2023 A new ride plate mod by Alexander Binninger was added into the mods folder. There are now 3 different ways to use a ride plate, all reorganized in a Ride plate mods subfolder. Thanks for sharing!

Update 18.09.2023 A new txt file FAQ_M-Jet_Sprint with answers to frequently asked questions was added to the files.

Update 19.09.2023 Thanks to the help of Andrew Westrop and Daniel Chapman, steps were made to fix an error with the cover lid size in the Longer hull mod. There are now two versions of the lid for the standard and bilge pump hull version, which should work better than before.

Update 27.11.2023 A paint handle by Dana Hager for holding the hull during painting was added to the mod folder. Thanks for sharing!

Update 04.02.2024 A new improved long ride plate mod by Peter Maurits was added into the mods folder, thanks for your design!

Update 12.02.2024 Two versions of a front bumper were added into the mods folder.

Update 12.02.2024 (new) Multiple versions of a hull with turn fins by Peter Maurits was added into the mods folder. Thanks again for your great work.

Update 13.02.2024 A new ride plate version by Peter Maurits for the thicker hull was added into the mods folder, thanks.

Update 12.03.2024 Supersprint V0 was uploaded.

Update 14.03.2024 Supersprint V0.1: A quick small patch. An issue with too low wall thickness on hull middle in front left part of the lid interface was fixed - thanks San Xu for reporting this. An instruction about ESC placement was added into the manual.

Update 17.03.2024 Supersprint V0.2: Some more information was added into the manual, part list and the drawing. Length of the flat spot on the driveshaft in the motor coupler area was slightly decreased.

Update 20.03.2024 Supersprint V0.3: Slot for a third threaded insert for an option to adjust the ride plate was added onto the pump based on suggestion by Ryan Frair. 3 new ride plates with a hole for a third screw were added. The default tolerance on the main bearing in Hull rear was slightly decreased for a tighter fit. After a discussion with Justin Wombwell, a tolerance mod for tighter tolerances on both seals and both bearings was added into the MODS folder. Also, based on a feedback from Justin Wombwell, the TPU lid corner was extended for better grip. Tiny changes to file naming and part list were performed. Thanks everyone for your feedback!

Update 26.03.2024: Upon a request, a single piece hull STL was added into the hull folder. Furthermore, the motor KV chart was modified based on measurements of the Supersprint's pump. Maximum recommended KV for 3650 and 3660 motors was decreased. Recommendations of battery capacity were added. The STEP file was renamed to match the version V0.3 but there are no changes to it.

Update 21.04.2024: Supersprint V0.4: Optimisation of the pump is finished with the optimised impeller. Improved Lid_base geometry thanks to suggestion by Lenny B - thanks for your contribution!

Update 29.04.2024: A 3D printable watercooling jacket for 36xx motors designed and kindly shared by Lenny B was added into the MODS folder in Supersprint V0.4. Thanks for sharing!

Update 15.05.2024: A note about TPU Lid hardness was added into the Supersprint manual and Supersprint part list. The TPU hardness should not exceed 40D / 85A to generate proper seal of the lid.

Update 19.05.2024: A long bumper for the Sprint was added into the Mods_for_M-Jet_Sprint folder, front bumper.

Has anyone built a replacement part over the nose? My kid drove into a stone and i'd like to fix it and not rebuild it. I wish i could print the nose a bit larger and put it over the destroyed part and seel it.

Are you talking about the Sprint or Supersprint? If it's the Sprint, there is a bumper in the Mods_for_M-Jet_Sprint folder, Front_bumper. Does that help?

thanks! and sorry, could have found that! printing right now and hope it's large enough to fix the broken part ;)

So to answer the question => sprint. But the bumper is about 1.5cm too short. Would you do such additions (longer and maybe a bit thinner so that it does not get too havy) and what would it cost? I could save some time & material and would at the same time make the boat more stable ;)

Yes, that is fairly simple edit. I have just added a long bumper version into the mods folder, which should solve your issue. You might have to do some sanding on the hull due to the geometry of the spray rails on the bottom, but eventually it should fit the purpose of repairing the hull. Also, you don't have to print the bumper in full Z height, feel free to split it in Z axis in your slicer to get the height you need. You can click your profile picture, purchases and download the newest mods for M-Jet Sprint folder.

I'm about to buy this, but I'm a little confused about which pump is included in the plans.
M-Jet-Development
M-Jet-Development 2024-05-15 05:23:49 UTC
There are 2 boats and each of them comes with their own pump included. 1) older M-Jet Sprint with a custom 27mm pump, which was based on a downscaled version of the M-Jet 30 but is not M-Jet 30. 2) newest Supersprint with its own 30mm pump, which is based on a downscaled version of the M-Jet 35 but is not M-Jet 35. For a detailed look at the Supersprint pump, I suggest for example watching the Supersprint build video. Every part shown in that video is included with the Supersprint files. https://youtu.be/ZU_h4ChaJqE?si=l48qZMfdop4Lfpa0

Thank you for the fast response. I ended up getting the M-Jet 30 and these plans once I realized how big the ragnarok is...

Hi Stepan, I'm a huge fan of your sprint boats and about to finish my 2nd build, the supersprint. I'm involved in other 3d printed (car) projects (Robak and RUDE) and wanted to ask if you have considered setting up a discord channel? It's been a huge help and perfect platform for a community to exchange ideas, tips, mods etc. The cgtrader comment section seems outdated. Just a thought, keep up your amazing work and have fun! Regards, Claude

Hello, thanks for your suggestion. For this exact purpose, there is an official M-Jet facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/623045356071128 There is no discord server, I am not planning to create one because most of the M-Jet community is in the facebook group.

Hi first - this is amazing! thanks! buut I have a small issue - the place where the first impeller is within the bearing-cap seems to get hot - actually melted together twice already. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
M-Jet-Development
M-Jet-Development 2024-04-15 10:51:51 UTC
Glad you like it! Melting the bearing cap can happen if, due to printing tolerances, the first impeller sleeve ends up too big, and the bearing cap too small. Just drill through the bearing cap to bigger size, or remove the bearing cap completely - it won't really change anything.

thanks for the quick response. removed it for now - also think the bearing will not really move.. ;)

Hi, can you please tell me what controller you are using to control the boat? It does not say it anywhere in the parts list. Thanks!

I am using Radiolink RC4GS transmitter and receiver combo. This receiver by itself is not waterproof so I am using the drybox too.

One of the nicest 3D printable downloads I have seen. It is obvious the designer has taken into account the capabilities of 3D printing in the design. All printed without a hitch.
