3D model description

This MUNNY Blank is the most accurate digital model of the Munny Artoy available at the moment. It is ready for texturing / animating / rendering / 3D printing.

⚠️⚠️This model is under Cults Private Use License meaning that ⛔️YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT ⛔️to sell 3D printed versions commercially. BUT you can ask me first via Cults Messages or my socials and we will craft & enter a special contract to allow you to do so. ⚠️⚠️

NOW UPDATED TO V2.4

  • Adjusted the symmetry of the pegs on body head and arm

Update V2.3

  • Adjusted the symmetry of the head and body top for easier modeling

Update V2.2

  • Alignment with recent combo and legend models in terms of geometry
  • Smooth Peg and Twist Lock pegs variant added
  • Added Print in Place versions of all of the above models

Update V2.0

  • Longer, larger and stronger connection points between parts, better suited for 3D printing

Why do I claim this is the most accurate model?
Because I 3D scanned a real one I possess and remodeled it entirely on top of the scan. You can have a deeper look into this process on my Artstation (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/NGw6DP)

What are you buying ? [Update V2.4 included]

  • 4 .stl files (Arm Left, Arm Right, Body and Head) | High tesselation Look for the BLK_2.3 versions for better prints. Older Versions are still available for download
  • 1 .obj file of an assembled Munny and with medium poly count for you to tweak in 3D software like Blender (Free), Cinema4D, Maya, etc.
  • 4 .stl files for tweaking your slicer settings (see section 3D printing settings below) [V01 only]
  • 1 .obj file of all the tweakers to help you remove all the holding rings (if you want to waste less material for example) [V01 only] See screenshots for both file types

Please have a look at my INSTA POST to see renderings and 3D prints examples. Scaling for bigger sizes also works really well as you can see HERE with this 2x. Scaling for smaller sizes is perfect as you can see in the images above (75% and 50% sizes)

3D printing settings

This is a beginner friendly model and all .stl files comes in an orientation I got the best results with, when printing on my FDM printer (CR10V3) at 0.3mm with a 0.4mm nozzle (and 0.4 with a 0.6 nozzle for the scaled 2x version).
In general I suggest hiding support structures on the least visible parts of the model.

Arms
If your bed adherence is well tuned, I suggest trying to print the arms vertically which will result in less islands on the arm most visible parts. The arms V2 come oriented vertically = you will need support and a brim for adhesion but the best results and appearance is garanteed this way.
Body
The .stl comes in the best position to avoid overhangs and unbalance in the print, which can lead to the body coming off the bed mid printing. A brim can help with bed adhesion but i have printed all mine without. The supports are enough.
Head
You will want to tune the support overhang depending on how well your printer handles these taking into account print speed, flow and of course layer height. I suggest making use of the various layer heights settings (cura) which works wonders to alleviate overhang issues. I also do not print any support in the head connection hole as it is annoying to clean up and is useless if your bridging is decent. I included a small HeadBlocker file if your slicer does not support support painting.

Tweakers
I created those to help you tweak your printer settings prior to printing Munny. The orientation of the .stl is the exact same as the real model. The idea is to test for tolerances, in doing so print lines orientation also matters (when printing above 0,1mm) hence I would recommend printing them as they come.
The ring is to help pull the tweakers apart. you want it to be snug but not too much that you can't remove the arms. Bear in mind that on the vertically printed ones, you might experience delayering on the weakest point of the donut (exactly in the donut's middle horizontal plane), so hold tight on the whole thing!
