3D model description

This is a wall/under desk holder for the Oculus 2. It is four parts, the base which mounts to the wall or under the desk / cabinet, the rotating nose pieces the Oculus sits on, and two ears that the Oculus controllers hang from. It prints as a single print job with all the parts oriented to print in a small area. The ears attach to each other through the wall mount with a single M3x20 bolt and nut, the Rotating Oculus mount to the end of the wall mount using a single M3x16 or M3x20 bolt, no nut required as the bolt will thread its-self into the plastic just fine and unlike the controller holder ears, it will have no lateral force on it that could pull it apart.

The Oculus mount faces inward to allow it to rotate between wall mount and under desk mount freely without being able to rotate far enough to dump the headset. This was an important design feature, as the this mount was initially designed to go in a RV and be mounted next to a computer desk that folds up for travel. This allows the Oculus to remain on the mount while the desk is in either position, as well as allowing for the desk to be folder up while the Oculus was attached to it without dropping it.

In testing, this mount held well over 30LBS and despite some fairly extreme jostling, the Oculus never fell off. And, because the Oculus is held by the nose piece and hand down, the inner lenses are well protected and do not accumulate any extra dust on them. Though I recommend making sure when placing the mount, you try to avoid direct sunlight exposure as this can prematurely degrade the plastic outside and there are two cameras on the outside of the oculus that don't like direct sunlight.

P.S. I have sold or given away every copy of this mount I have printed so far. When mounting this hanger to the wall, it is easiest to do it after taking the hanger apart, do to size constraints, the bottom screw hold are directly behind the "ears" that hold the controllers.

3D printing settings

Everything was printed using a 0.4mm nozzle, no supports.
