3D model description
Read carefully: (Auger) screw for automatic dog or cat feeder for designer DIY inquiries has two auger screw stl designs, the first design has a 8.8mm diameter cavity in the center for name a 17 stepper motor with gear attached insertion and the 2 mm tension screw hole on the side if tension is necessary the second design named Augur screw WOGH, has no tension screw hole nor gear hole, you are able to attach a cross bracket or drilled a center hole if necessary . Auger screw when sit to turn clockwise will push dog food from Hopper out designed tubing or PVC piping. and make sure you make or buy piping large enough so food does not get jammed along the side of auger, there will be complications if you don't do so, the possibilities are endless. measurements are done in millimeters simply design for DIY automatic dog or cat feeders. 3D printer settings may vary depending on printer and slicer. Please note and be warned depending on printer leveling and slicer settings you may have to slice 0.5 to 1 mm off of the bottom of the auger but be sure not to slice the tension screw hole off, the tension screw hole is measured at approximately 2 mm diameter due to filament density these measurement might fluctuate be warned be sure to measure and compensate for your tension screw and excluded cavity located directly at the bottom and centered in the middle as mentioned earlier is designed for a nema 17 stepper motor with a fixed gear most commonly used on 3D printers and can be found on eBay https://www.ebay.com/itm/274326752653?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=QQGdEyGhSW-&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=4sc4gxezs8-&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY has a diameter of 14mm and depth of 10.5 mm (suggestion) if sold out and cannot find nema motor in link provided with gear that fits you can also find a gear somewhat similar and heat and melt and press into whole if necessary. The schematic of nema motor will be in photo.

(Read carefully) be sure to use food grade filament no harmful glue or adhesive or necessary in this print. be sure not to stop print until Auger screw is completed, if stop halfway and cools the Auger screw (May become detach from the bed).be sure to get your print bed hot enough for first layer adhesion. design might have a slight imbalance depending on slicer you are using and print stabilization if possible and if necessary you might need to slice portion mentioned in the description. Using the Astroprint.com free app slicer settings are set to layer height 0.4 mm, first layer height 0.4 mm, perimeter minimum 2, boxes should be checked (generate extra parameter when needed, detect thin walls, detect bridging parameters), number of solid layers on the top 1, number of solid layers at the bottom 1, Sean position( Aligned), infield density 0.2 , full angle 45, parameter speed 20, speed of small parameter 20, speed of external parameter 180, Infill speed 30, top solid Infill speed 25, support material speed 45, speed of bridges 25, speed of Gap fill 20, travel speed 30, first layer speed 10, support pattern(Pillars), support pattern angle 0, don't support bridging( boxes should be checked), keep all extrusion options as is, set all the temperature to specify what your specific filament temperature specs see manufacture for details. Be sure to run a couple of build plates and slice test prints until you are 100% sure you have the right settings. and good luck.
