This is Direct Feed Titan Extruder X-Carriage designed to work the the Tevo Tarantula.
This was designed to work specifically with an E3Dv6 Hotend, E3D Titan Extruder, and a Nema 17 Pancake Stepper motor (Link below to dimensions and specs)
Features:
- Extruder Direct Feed setup lowered to clear the 2040 Tarantula X Rail
- Currently support standard E3D Heatblock BLTouch, SN04 (Stock) and Round Proximity Sensors
- 3 Wheeled design to allow the stepper motor drop to the correct height and allows easier tensioning of wheels against X beam
- Reinforcement beams with integrated cable tie slots (belt lock version)
- 2 Versions:
X Belt locking mechanism (by thingirob) - eliminate the use of zip ties to secure X belt
X Belt Fine Adjustment Version (modeled from Ulmenkott) - provides fine adjustment of X belt tension
IMPORTANT: Because the endstop was relocated, you will need to make a few changes in your firmware and hardware. The following changes were done using Marlin 1.1 RC7 & MKS Base 1.2:
- Uncomment define USE_XMAX_PLUG
- Changed X_HOME_DIR from -1 to 1
- Moved the connector on the MKS board from -X to +X
ADDITIONAL: May need this as well. Thanks xfirax for the heads up!
define X_MAX_ENDSTOP_INVERTING false // set to true to invert the logic of the endstop
X & Y Probe Offset(s):
BLTouch:
X Probe offset from nozzle: 20mm
Y Probe offset from nozzle: 65mm
SN04:
X Probe offset from nozzle: 20mm
Y Probe offset from nozzle: 75mm
Round:
X Probe offset from nozzle: 20mm
Y Probe offset from nozzle: 90mm
NOTE: I've included the native 123D Design formats so you can modify if required / desired. Keeping this open source to hopefully encourage improvements and new designs.
In development:
- 8.5mm spacer for Volcano Heatblock
- Integrated Layer Fan mount & Fan to eliminate the need for the E3D Hotend Fan to be used as a mounting point
Special Thanks: This is a remix of thingirob's Tevo Tarantula Modular X Car Basic, e3d 2x
(http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1438795) as well as using Ulmenkott belt tensioner idea (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1640682). Without their designs it would of been difficult to create this remix.
