My mother drove a school bus for 24 years. She called Friday and Saturday nights "Wine Nights" because she could drink a glass a wine and not have to worry about getting up at 3:45 AM the next morning. Well, after 24 years, she's retiring so now
every night can be wine night!
To help celebrate, I got her a school bus wine stopper. Oddly enough, there seem to be an absence of products that combine "school bus driving" and "alcohol." : ) Luckily, that's what
Shapeways is for!
The bus is designed to fit on the 3/8" stud of the
#302 Niles Bottle Stopper. Niles Bottle Stoppers are
FDA-grade stainless steel and food-safe. They will work with wine as well as other applications such as olive oil. The Steel print fits snugly on the #302 stud, but the Strong & Flexible Plastic prints fit looser, so you'll want to apply an adhesive.
Finally, the default material is listed as the Strong & Flexible Yellow Polished Plastic, which is affordable and nice. However, if you can afford it, I do recommend the Gold Plated Steel. It gives the stopper a solid, professional feel.
I did mark the Model as a
Co-Creator, so if you want to engrave anything on the top like I did, that can be accommodated. I'm also a big believer in
Creative Commons, so feel free to download the model for your own projects.
